I have a well established successful private practice for the past fifteen years seeing individuals, couples and families.
I am also a qualified supervisor providing supervision for both groups and individuals.
My Experience
I have been in private practice since 1995.
I originally trained with CRUSE and then started a
Foundation course in Counselling prior to reading for a degree. My placement for four years was in the University Student Counselling Service, which gave me an opportunity to counsel any topic/issue the client bought to me. I discovered that a lot of the problems were around relationships and sexual issues so Relate gave me a comprehensive training in these subjects.
I started training at the Post Adoption Centre and received many referrals within the adoption "triage" from West Sussex Social Services.
Since 2008 I have been using my skills at CancerWise a cancer charity in Chichester. There I am both counsellor and "Care Manager" responsible for therapist and counsellors working there.
I supervise both groups and individuals. I also have supervision groups at a "12-25 yr" Youth Counselling Services.
My days are full and busy doing the work I truly love, receiving referrals from local GPs, and Triage Health Care (Manor & Priory).
I also receive referrals from the local BUPA hospital counselling women and couples experiencing IVF problems.
My nursing background, and having worked in the pharmaceutical industry linked with specific mental health training, allows me to regularly see clients with varied mental health issues such as depression, bi-polar and post natal depression.
More importantly I do very little advertising as the vast majority of my referrals are "word of mouth" ; hopefully a tribute to my success with clients?

My Approach
I am an integrative holistic counsellor, firmly believing the importance of how mind and body are intrinsically linked. Therefore I always adapt my practice to suit individual requirements of my clients. I use interventions and strategies and humour where appropriate to help the therapeutic relationship to hopefully a successful outcome.
I offer long-term, short-term or fixed-term face-to-face counselling.
